How does Lonia work?
Lonia lets you consult licensed doctors online by video, receive a digitally-signed prescription, order medication for delivery, book lab tests, and request home healthcare visits — all from your phone or computer, anywhere in Nigeria.
How much does an online doctor consultation cost?
Consultation fees are set by each doctor and depend on whether they are a general practitioner or a specialist. You always see the exact fee before you confirm and pay for a booking — there are no hidden charges.
What is the ₦4,000 fee?
₦4,000 is the flat medication delivery fee added when you order medication for delivery. For home healthcare services it is the standard visit/transport fee added on top of the health worker's service cost.
Do I need a prescription to order medication?
No. All medications in the Lonia catalog can be purchased without a prescription. Items that normally warrant medical advice display a 'consult recommended' note, but this does not block your purchase.
Where is Lonia available?
Online doctor and therapy consultations are available anywhere in Nigeria because they happen by video. Medication delivery is nationwide. Home healthcare visits and lab sample collection are available in the cities we currently cover, and we are expanding.
How does medication delivery work?
Add medications to your cart from the catalog, pay online, and your order is fulfilled and delivered by our nationwide pharmacy partner. A flat ₦4,000 delivery fee applies. You can track your order status from your account.
How do I get a prescription?
After your online consultation, the doctor can issue a prescription that is digitally signed by them. A prescription is only valid once the issuing doctor has signed it, and you can then order the prescribed medication for delivery.
How do payments work?
Payments are processed securely online through Paystack. Lonia holds your payment and releases it to the provider only after the service is completed, so your money is protected until you have received care.
Is my health information safe?
Yes. Lonia protects your personal and health data in line with the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023, and all access to medical records is logged for audit and compliance.
